Hundreds of guests enjoyed another fun-filled Opening Night Gala for the newest residence in the Masterpiece family, the 300 suite Club Masterpiece at Symphonia, located on the southern tip of Nuns’ Island. The view from every suite is outstanding, with either a river or city panorama – and some corner locations have both views. The ladies were beautiful in their formal gowns and the gentlemen elegant. There were Highland Pipers, bands, spectacular fireworks, and a delicious dinner prepared by Chef John Currie and his team in the kitchen.

For sevaral months I thought someone was building a new hotel near the corner the Trans Canada and boul. St-Jean in Point Claire. I was partly correct - it is just like a hotel, complete with huge indoor swimming pool and spa area, a choice of dining rooms and each of the 300 suites is equipped with a working fire place and a flat screen TV.

Calgary, Alberta – Masterpiece chose ThinkGlass, a unique Canadian company that produces versatile, whole cast glass, to create a stunning feature wall in their L’Envol spa at Masterpiece West Island. The exclusive/patented molding process enables ThinkGlass to create new or repetitive textures in any thickness of glass. Masterpiece wanted to utilize this state of the art, glass thermo fusion process to convert a glass wall into a sculptural focal point. It is both functional, dividing the spa from the dining area, and a work of art.
